Smalltalk - A weekly commentary
by Calvin Wylie

What make a group of Christian's meeting different from other groups? We meet in our own building, but so does the Congress. We have an agenda or order of service, but so do many organizations. We conduct training for all ages, but so does our educational system. Jesus said it best, "Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matt 18:20 [NIV]) And that makes all the difference.

Welcome to College Park Wesleyan Church

Our Mission Statement - "Lifting Up Jesus to our World"

Jesus said, "But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself." (John 12:32). College Park Wesleyan Church exists for the sole purpose of glorifying the triune God. All of our efforts and resources are dedicated to fulfilling this mission. The components of this mission are:

Worship: We strive to facilitate an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit, unhindered, is free to touch the hearts of sinners and saints, alike.

Proclamation and Instruction From the Bible: Relying solely on the Holy Bible as our divine authority, we solemnly preach and teach the principles and precepts of Scripture to people of every age group.

Prayer Ministries: We pray faithfully for the salvation of the unsaved and we prayerfully intercede for those within the body of believers, and those outside it, who are hurting and in need of comfort.

Community Outreach: We have a strong commitment to our outreach and visitation programs for the purpose of welcoming families and individuals of the local community and outlying areas to join us in worship.

Administration of the Sacraments: The Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion are special means of grace to all believers and are done with careful observance of God's Word.

Fellowship: We strive to offer formal and informal opportunities for fellowship in the church for all its attendees.
